McCain: The Democrat’s Newest Scapegoat

Another climate change bill seems set to fail in the US Senate and who do liberals pick out to blame? Well when you can’t face the reality that the Senate Democrats can’t get anything done, the only thing left to do is blame a Republican. Take a look at this:

The Republican presidential nominee backed away from this year’s debate to focus on his campaign, ceding his sponsorship role to Virginia Republican senator John Warner.

Despite McCain’s qualified statement of support for the climate bill, his absence from the pivotal vote today gave Democrats an opening to hammer him as no different from George Bush, who promised to veto the measure.

“We saw this morning yet another example of Bush-McCain Republicans refusing to address one of the most important issues of our time,” Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid of Nevada said.

“Senator McCain says global warming is one of his top issues, but when he has the chance to do something about it, he doesn’t even show up to work.”

Neither Obama nor Hillary Clinton attended the vote, signalling that Democratic leaders anticipated the bill’s failure.

Hmmm…McCain misses a “pivotal vote” while both Clinton and Obama didn’t attend because they knew it was going to fail anyways. Harry Reid is just bitter that he can’t get anything done and isn’t getting any help from his own party (Obama and Hillary).

Democrats: Stop shifting the blame for your inability to pass your legislation. You basically have control of of both the Senate and the House of Representatives and if you can’t even get your legislation on the President’s desk so he can veto it.

Coed Bathrooms in Colorado UPDATE

Well, if you have been paying attention to Colorado politics, you probably already know that a new bill is proposing that the state make all bathrooms coed. What you might not know is that this bill was actually signed into law by Governor Ritter.

What a sad day for Colorado.

Coed Bathrooms in Colorado

There are times when I am just at a loss of words and it takes me a while to stop fuming enough to write a post. This is one of those times. A Colorado bill, which is just one signature away from becoming law, would make it so public bathrooms must be, in all reality, co-ed.

A new “transgender nondiscrimination” bill pending in Colorado, which would make it illegal to deny a person access to public accommodations including restrooms and locker rooms based on gender identity or the “perception” of gender identity, is one signature away from becoming law.

Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter,a Democrat, has one week to sign or veto Senate Bill 200, recently passed by both the House and the Senate. The bill, titled “Expanded Discrimination Prohibitions,” holds this definition:

“‘Sexual orientation’ means a person’s orientation toward heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, or transgender status or another person’s perception thereof.”

According to the bill, business owners and managers of restaurants, gyms, barber shops, massage parlors, etc., and managers of “public [facilities] of any kind whether indoor or outdoor” cannot deny a person employment or access to a facility based on gender identity or that “perception.”

The bill also makes it illegal to discriminate based on “sexual orientation” when renting, selling or leasing housing or when selecting members for jury duty. Penalties for those who discriminate against others based on gender identity include fines and/or time in jail.

What does all the jibberish mean? It means that if a man decides to dress up like a woman, he couldn’t be refused entry into the woman’s restroom or locker room. As the article states, this means even public schools. Scary isn’t it?

What makes this even more scary for me is that this has a lot of potential to be a “slippery slope” issue. Even though this bill excludes religious facilities, you know someone will complain down the road and get some legislation proposed to end that exemption.

Plus just the stupidity of this bill is just outrageous. Imagine a Peeping Tom right in a girls’ locker room for a place like the local YMCA. Several women discover him and decide they want to sue. Do they sue the man? the YMCA for allowing him in? the state? Do they have any rights at all other than to just let it occur?

And Democrats blame Republicans for taking away privacy rights?

Luckily this bill hasn’t passed yet so there is still time. Contact Colorado Governor Bill Ritter and voice your protests against this bill. Hopefully he will listen

Jimmy Carter releases Israel’s Nuke count

Words do not describe how shocked and angry I am at Jimmy Carter. Honestly, why in the world would he decide to tell the world that Israel has 150 nuclear devices?

Israel has 150 nuclear weapons in its arsenal, former President Jimmy Carter said yesterday, while arguing that the US should talk directly to Iran to persuade it to drop its nuclear ambitions.

His remark, made at the Hay-on-Wye festival which promotes current affairs books and literature, is startling because Israel has never admitted having nuclear weapons, let alone how many, although the world assumes their existence. Nor do US officials deviate in public from that Israeli line. Carter, who has immersed himself since his presidency in Israeli-Palestinian relations, was highly critical of Israeli settlers on the West Bank, and of Israel’s refusal to talk to elected officials of the Islamic party Hamas, although he said that Israel’s security was his prime concern.

If I was Israel right now I would be very angry at Carter. I mean, the world basically knew that they had nukes with every one of those “Nuclear Capable Countries” maps listing Israel but to claim the exact amount they have is crazy.

Also, if that information was gained when he was president, isn’t it illegal for him to share it with anyone? Wouldn’t it be considered treason to share state secrets with the world? Even if it isn’t treason since its not exactly our secret, shouldn’t there be some consequences?

Carter has been living in a world where he thinks that being a former president makes him immune from the consequences. From openly meeting with terrorists to making this announcement, it’s time for something to be done.

What do you folks think?

Hitler wasn’t that ‘unreasonable’

Sometimes I just have to shake my head and laugh. It’s times like these that there really is nothing more one can do.

Lieberman is a pretty decent fellow

Today, Lieberman voiced his support for Bush’s statements about world leaders who want to talk to terrorists. Who would have thought that the former VP of the all-knowing Goracle would turn out to be a such decent fellow?

MSU students have too much time on their hands

Plus they are really rude too. Well, the whole student body isn’t rude, just some members of the group La Raza who decided to close down one of the many bridges on MSU’s campus for the sake of illegal immigration. They always like to cause trouble.

This would be really funny…

…if it wasn’t so sad.

Who is the most liberal in San Francisco?

Well here is something you don’t see everyday. Two liberal groups, an animal activist group and an artist, got into a little dispute about who could be the most liberal.

You see, liberals are all about free speech in art unless you are killing some animal or doing something to offend Muslims. This case has to do with the former. The French artist’s display includes several different animals, including a horse, getting bludgeoned over the head with a mallet until they are dead. This of course set the two groups at odds and threats started to fly.

However, no matter how “right” the animal rights group may be, threats to kill the children of the artist and the art gallery owners isn’t the best, or most sane, way to respond.

Personally, I think both groups are pretty sick, twisted, and demented. The artist and the art gallery people are pretty sick for doing/allowing such a thing to be shown while calling it “art” and the animal rights people for thinking that the killing animals is worth threatening to end a child’s life.

To take a quote from the “Say Anything Blog” that I got this article from,

I don’t understand either thing and I hope to God I never do.

There’s something seriously wrong with both sides.

Anti-War rally at Winthrop

Today, there will be an anti-war rally at Winthrop University if any of you want to join in the madness or just watch the spectacle. If you cannot make it to today’s events, Michelle Malkin has a list of some of other anti-war events that you can mark on your calendar. However, I must say that some of the things border on “terrorist” activities.

Then again, you could just find a local protest to participate in like those guys at Protest Warrior.
