Obama mixing Religion and Politics, Again
Once again, I am finding it really funny at how the liberals in this election are mixing religion and politics so shamelessly. Long gone are the days when they gave just subtle hints about their religious beliefs. So who was it this time that is blatantly using religion for their political gain? None other than Barack Obama.
In a new tract that is circulating in Kentucky at the moment, Barack Obama is pictured in a church with a cross in the background. This political tract has a quote from Obama saying that he wouldn’t be fulfilling God’s will unless he “go[es] out and do[es] the Lord’s work.” And I’m guessing the “Lord’s work” would be running for president?
As Ed Morrissey at HotAir.com points out, Mike Huckabee, who is a former Baptist minister, got crucified(there might be a pun intended) by the media for having a “floating cross” in the background of his Christmas commercial.
Why am I making such a big deal of Obama’s blatant use of religion for political gain? Shouldn’t I, a Christian, be happy to have such a religious candidate?
Well the reason I am making such a big deal about this is because liberals are always the ones going on and on about keeping a separation between church and state. Judging by how he is running his campaign, I highly doubt he believes in this. For example, the two Obama events I attended in South Carolina both opened up with choirs singing gospel songs (read my stories here and here).
Liberals always blame conservatives for wanting to set up some sort of religious theocracy. Well I have news for you liberals: Your supposed Presidential candidate is using religion as a crutch far more than any of the other presidential candidates in the race (either right of left).
