I have been told that today Rush Limbaugh mentioned one of my videos I had on YouTube.com. It’s the video concerning Michelle Obama’s “That’s America” comment that I seemed to have overlooked when I had originally taken the video. Anyways, I didn’t get to hear when Rush exactly said but if anyone has a link to the audio that I could put up, that would be awesome.

Here is a list of some of the sites that have linked to my video:

BreitBart TV

NewsMax

PoliGazette

The Jawa Report

Patt Dollard

I really should start embedding my videos directly into my blog so that I can actually take credit for my work.

I’ve just launched a new website called SC Statehouse Blog that I will be running in conjunction with Blatant Reality. Its a blog focusing on what is happening inside the South Carolina State Legislature. Our main source of information will be from one-on-one interviews with various Republican and Democrat legislators. We already have one interview with Representative Michael Pitts about a new bill concerning the release of the concealed-weapon permit list. Check it out.

Well, I just discovered today that one of the videos I took from a Michelle Obama Speech was linked to from the Free Republic. Seems that it had some America bashing in it that I failed to catch when I wrote my article the first time around. Looking back, my article about her speech seems pretty rosy. Hmmm… I blame it on how long her speeches are. Forty minutes is enough to allow anyone to zone out here and there. I must have missed all the “good” parts.

They somewhat get it

The news agencies are finally noticing the lack of their own coverage of the Iraq War. However, they still don’t seem to understand the gravity of it.

In this AFP news article, the author blames the economy and the current presidential campaign as being the reason that the number of news stories about the Iraq War have dropped. I personally find this hard to believe. If the war was going poorly, there would be hundreds of news articles written (especially about the death toll reaching 4,000) which the Democrats would latch on to and parade around. This isn’t the case because, on a whole, the war is proceeding much better than it has.

The current economy and presidential election situations haven’t overshadowed the Iraq War in the news; the Iraq War has instead shrunk to an unimportant size. It is along these same lines that the articles states the following that I tend to agree with:

Ron Nessen, a former NBC television correspondent and White House press secretary at the end of the Vietnam War, attributed the falloff in interest to US successes in quelling violence in Iraq, which has brought the death toll of Americans and Iraqis down from the highs of late 2006 — though only to 2005 levels.

“Maybe I’m cynical … but good news is no news. I think you are seeing a little bit of that effect in Iraq,” Nessen, now a media expert at the Brookings Institution in Washington, told AFP.

That not need be the case. I am personally interested in hearing positive news from Iraq it’s just they (the news) won’t oblige.

Adult stem cells help treat Parkinson’s

More good news from the adult stem cell research centers! Resent studies now show that adult stem cells can help improve the symptoms of Parkinson’s.

All of the patients with Parkinson’s disease who were treated by implantation of stem cells into the brain have achieved substantial improvement in terms of beneficial changes that were apparent within 1 week of the implant procedure.

“Our 1 patient who has reached 1 year following the implant has achieved an 80% improvement in his Parkinson’s disease-related symptoms,” said Augusto Brazzini Armestar, MD, Director, Instituto Brazzini Radiologos Asociados, Lima, Peru.

In his featured poster presentation on March 18 here at the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) 33rd Annual Scientific Meeting, Dr. Armestar said the implants of purified autologous bone-marrow-derived stem cells were attempted in hopes that the cells would implant in areas of the brain depleted of neurotransmitters.

“Stem cells from bone marrow have the ability to differentiate into neurons and other tissues,” he said. “Usually stem cells migrate to sites of injury. However, they do so in very small quantities, and so full regeneration is not gained.”

This begs the question: Is there anything that adult stem cells can’t fix? I’ll answer that myself with a resounding yes, but it sure is close.

Al Gore led the crusade

The Wall Street Journal came out with an article today stating that Al Gore wasn’t the first one to sound the alarm about man made global warming. However, according to the dates they give, he was definitely one of the firsts. The first date they give was in 1979 which Gore was already a pretty big proponent of environmental measures then. The next date is 1988 and by that time, Gore had already co-sponsored congressional hearings about global warming.

1980s: Representative Al Gore (D-TN), who had been a student of Revelle’s, co-sponsored the first Congressional hearings to study the implications of global warming and to encourage the development of environmental technologies to combat global warming.

I don’t know if this WSJ article was assuming that Gore’s movie “An Inconvenient Truth” was the first action in Gore’s global warming crusade or not. However, they don’t even put a quote attributed to Gore about global warming until the timeline gets to the year 2006, roughly 20 years after the inception of his crusade.

So why would I, a known “global warming skeptic” be defending Al Gore’s claim to have been on the front lines since the beginning? Well, I’m sorry to break it to you, but its not that I feel bad for the man for not getting credit where it’s due. Instead, I just want to make sure everyone knows that he has been this crazy since the beginning. One definition of insanity is repeating the same actions and expecting to get different results. He’s been doing this since the 80’s folks. That’s a long time.

Jim DeMint and the Internet

South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint is often herald as one of the few Senators to stand up against the immigration bill last summer. He was the one the tipped off Drudge to what was going on which led to the ultimate defeat of the bill in the Senate. According to Senator DeMint, this experience is what showed him the true power of the internet.

Now, in order to continue his message of border control, DeMint has created a new website to keep voters informed on what is happening.

He recently created a new Web site — www.completethefencenow.com — to update progress on security the nation’s border with Mexico. “People want to know. We’re responding in a traditional marketing sense. Here’s a consumer need. We’re going to put this site on and let people know,” he said. “I know it’s frustrating for people who call our office and say ‘Nothing is happening.’ I don’t hear anything.”

Byars said the site also is a way to communicate with bloggers, who can link to it or ask DeMint’s office to research questions they have about drug or sex trafficking along the border. “It’s an interactive way for us to work to build support outside the dome,” Byars said.

“If I don’t have support outside the dome — loud and vocal support — people inside are not going to listen to me,” DeMint added. “They’re going to ignore me whenever they can if it’s anything about changing the culture or the ways things are done. I’m almost completely dependent on the American people to help me push some things through.

“In some ways, it’s been encouraging that people have been responsive and engaged. They get information and have a way to respond. They do. It’s like it is a government for the people.”

This is the way government should work. It should allow the people to be educated about what is happening in Congress and allow them to voice their opinions. Whether or not the Congressman listen to their constituents all depends on if they feel voting against the people’s opinion is worth the possibility of them losing their job.

Egypt to get Russian nuclear reactors

As I stated back in October, Egypt is looking to make a deal with Russia to get nuclear reactors. Now it seems that they are just a couple days from signing a deal that would allow Russia to build reactors in Egypt.

The document will be signed during a forthcoming visit by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak to Moscow on March 24-25, Gheit said.

“This agreement will enable Egypt to use Russia’s extensive experience in the peaceful use of nuclear energy,” Gheit said.

A source in Egypt’s electricity and energy ministry earlier said the document will lay the foundation for nuclear energy cooperation between Egypt and Russia and will strengthen relations between Russian companies and Egypt.

You know why they picked Russia over the US to build these reactors? Its because the United States imposes “tough restrictions, including regular inspections and control.” And you know why we do all those “tough restrictions” and “inspections?” It’s because we want to be sure that this nuclear technology doesn’t fall into the wrong hands that could use it against our strategic ally, Israel.

You would think that something as big as this would be getting a lot more media attention.
