New Hampshire Democratic Debate
Well, we will let the storm settle a little from the Republican debate but the Democrat’s debate should be starting soon…hopefully.
UPDATE (8:05 CST)
And the first question for the Democrats will be…Nuclear Terrorism! This will be an interesting answer.
UPDATE (8:15 CST)
Obama: Would launch a strike into Pakistan if he had actionable intelligence that Osama bin Laden was there. I was if this intelligence was much like George Bush’s Iraq intelligence.
Edwards: Wants to rid the world of nuclear weapons. My answer to that is: DREAM ON!
Richardson: Would ask Musharif to step down and use diplomacy.
Clinton: Brings up the failed missile assault attack on bin Laden ten years ago and then casually says we didn’t get him. Like we didn’t know that already.
UPDATE (8:25 CST)
Question: What will we do on the day after a nuclear weapon goes off in an American city?
Edwards: Find out who did it and go after them.
Obama: Recommit to the Nuclear proliferation treaty.
Clinton: We need to state to the terrorists that “there is no safe haven.” Hmmm that sounds just a wee bit like Bush’s philosophy now doesn’t it?
Richardson: Totally irrelevant and still doing his wonderful bullet point statements
UPDATE (8:35 CST)
Next topic is about change.
Hillary start off the attack on Obama and Obama retorts with a long and drawn out monologue.
Edwards: Hillary is the part of “the forces of status quo” or at least that is what I’m getting from his hand motions
UPDATE (8:40 CST)
Man, don’t you EVER tell Hillary that she isn’t an instigator of change. She was so irate when Edwards said she wasn’t for change. Then here comes Richardson, the calm voice of rationality, trying to bring order to this mud slinging fight.
UPDATE (8:42 CST)
Now onto the Surge. I wonder what there takes on this will be. I bet that Richardson’s answer has something to do with a bullet point list.
UPDATE (8:50 CST)
On the surge…
Hillary: Its not working. There shouldn’t be any more deaths in Iraq. Bring all our troops home tomorrow.
Obama: Phased redeployment. (What in the world is that?)
Edwards: Pull troops out and phased redeployment with no permanent military bases.
Richardson: No permanent military bases and we shouldn’t rebuild Iraq.
UPDATE (8:54 CST)
Another much needed break. They need a lot more breaks for these things. I don’t know how any normal person can actually pay attention through these things.
UPDATE (9:05 CST)
Obama admits not paying attention to the Republican debate prior to his debate! He was watching football instead.
UPDATE (9:10 CST)
Richardson needs to understand that the mike is hooked onto his table so every time he hits the table, it is picked up on the mike. Did he ever take a public speaking class?
UPDATE (9:15 CST)
Obama and Edwards are teaming up quite nicely, first against Hillary and now talking about lobbyists. Hmmm, is anyone else seeing a Obama/Edwards ticket for 08?
UPDATE (9:17 CST)
Hillary is pissed and used the word excoriated.
UPDATE (9:27 CST)
Thank goodness, finally we are moving on to something interesting: Global Warming. At first I was optimistic about none of the candidates wanting a carbon tax (which I am totally against) but then Richardson started spouting off much more drastic measures. Obama at least knew that no matter what changes you put on the producers will be passed onto the consumers. He at least knows Econ 101. Hillary of course starts spouting off stuff about the economy which the president has almost nothing to do with.
UPDATE (9:31 CST)
This debate is quite boring. I really wish Kucinich or Gravel was here. At least the Republicans have Ron Paul to spice things up a bit.
UPDATE (9:38 CST)
Interesting Question: What is the one thing you could take back from your debates?
Clinton: Doesn’t answer the question and instead blames the Republicans for everything (as always).
Richardson: At least he answers the questions and does so in a way that makes everyone laugh. He regrets his pick of favorite Supreme Court Justice at the first debate.
Edwards: Making fun of Hillary clothes (he was actually jealous of her wardrobe).
Obama: Doesn’t answer the question.
UPDATE (9:40CST)
ITS FINALLY OVER! I don’t know how much longer I could have lasted. Well I will hopefully have my picks for who won each debate up within the next hour so check back soon.
