Huckabee’s campaign website did quite well this past week by getting roughly 30% of the total hits the 7 Republican Presidential candidate’s websites received. Overall, that places MikeHuckabee.com in second place only to RonPaul2008.com out of the Republicans and third when combined with the Democrat’s websites.

Stephen Colbert’s Presidential bid seems to have ended prematurely today with the denial of his ability to run on the ticket as either a Republican or Democrat.
Hours later, the party’s executive council voted 13-3 against allowing him on the ballot for the January 26 primary contest, party spokeswoman Keiana Page told Reuters. The eight other major Democratic candidates were accepted, she said.
“Those candidates who were rejected will receive their checks back,” she said, adding that a variety of reasons can keep a candidate off the ballot including whether they are a nationally recognized candidate and the individual is actively campaigning in the state.
Colbert also failed to qualify for the Republican January 19 primary ballot. He was required to file papers with the state party as well as the Federal Election Commission and pay a $35,000 fee, but that did not occur by Thursday’s deadline, according to a party official.
I personally think the Democrats are just scared to see what would actually happen if he was allowed on the ballot. For example, I could see him wreaking a lot of havoc if he were to even finish 3rd in South Carolina’s primary.

Huckabee’s campaign was able to exceed its campaign goal by raising a total of $1,079,290.64 at the time of this posting (1:00 am EST, Nov 1st). The best part is that, as of 2:00 pm EST on the 31st of October, the campaign was DOWN roughly $15,000. In an email sent out from the Huckabee campaign to those on the mailing list, Huckabee said the following:
We have just hours before our midnight fundraising deadline of raising in October, 1 dollar more than we raised in total for the months of July, August and September. It will be quite an accomplishment and we are so very close to our goal. The last email I received from the campaign said we are just $15,219 away from our online goal of $1,034,487 raised online.
This means that not only did the campaign exceed its goal by around $45,000, it was able to collect $60,000 worth of donations in only 11 hours. This is a very impressive showing and is reminiscent of how the Dean campaign was able to set and then exceed many of its campaign financing goals. If Huckabee continues this trend, it will be interesting to see how much farther he makes his way up into the polls.
